Patience:: the quality of being able to endure suffering without complaint; being quiet while waiting for something to happen.
Somethings take patience to be heard. Only on the far side of the canyon's wind will you catch its vibe. Sometimes what you see is beyond what you can comprehend. Only on the far side of the canyon's wind will you know what you saw. Sometimes, what you feel is beyond what you can endure.
Only on the far side of the canyon's wind will you know how strong you've become. Patience, then, is to listen to the reverberations of life's experiences... and find their words. That's the spirit under which this night of live music in Bemidji's best reverberant space was born.
Come ride the vibes of these new tunes in this room designed to carry vibes. We're gathering for an evening of extensive bouts of shoulder shimmying, bootie wiggling, foot stomping, and fist raising lines of personal truth. When we're through sharing the new mudsongs with you, our friends in Forge North will carry us all home.

about mudsong
For the past decade, mudsong has been crafting original, tale-length concerts that sound the heartache and hallelujah of our breaking human hearts. Thomas King said, "The truth about stories is that’s all we are." The truth about mudsong is songstories are all we are. Original stories. Fresh songs. Crafted from the sloppy, raw mess of life? That's what we do. As musicians, we anticipate our evenings to open on the hearthfire of the bass guitar, shimmy through the saxophone, and linger over heart and soul. We've been blessed to be featured on Lakeland PBS’ Backroads and BSU’s Live. If your head dips & nods like a descendant of Bill Withers, if your heart takes lyrical gut-punches from Dawes, or your hips wiggle to Stax’s Memphis Soul, you’ll enjoy the rollicking, sometimes reeling, ride that is an evening with mudsong. |
about Forge North
Known for their distinctive, full-bodied harmonies and textured, soulful sound, Forge North invites you to groove like no one is watching every show they do. Helmed by Charley Wagner, who soaks his hearty, rough-sawn mantras, in warm, soulful grit, the band finds itself exploring peace and personal growth atop a sound best described as what happened when Neko Case met Eddie Vedder. Tristan Schultz plants rows of bass lines atop Grant Raddatz’s anchoring groove. Matt Gutzmann tends to the faded art of the pedal steel while Garret Raddatz marinates with ambience and light from his keys. As Charley Wagner puts it, they are, “Thankful to do. Thankful to have done. Thankful for the chance, to sit, stand, or run.” and dance, loves, just dance.. ;-) |
